Calibration is very important in order for the device to give accurate and repeatable readings. Without proper calibration pH readings will be inaccurate with a lot of fluctuation. Much care needs to be taken to get good results. Always use simple values for calibrating the pH probe.

What you will need to calibrate the pH device.

  1. gardenPH Device

  2. Supplied pH probe

  3. Low, Mid, and High Point calibration pouches

  4. Cup of clean water

  5. Soft Towel

Leave the probe tip in the soaker bottle. Take a few readings and verify that the readings are between ~3.4 and 3.8. If the readings are outside this range the probe may be no good. To test this place the probe in a cup of water and see if you get a pH reading that is not 0. If the readings are good procced with the calibration.

Calibration Steps (Using the app)

  1. Clean the probe with clean water. Dry the probe with a soft towel.

  2. Open the calibration pouches.

  3. Open the app and navigate to the calibration page.

  4. Place clean/dry probe into the mid point (7) calibration pouch.

  5. Press the mid point (7) calibration button to start the mid point calibration.

  6. Once it is complete is will give details regarding the quality of the calibration.

  7. Clean and dry the probe.

  8. Place the probe into the low point (4) calibration pouch. Press the low point (4) calibration button to start the low point calibration.

  9. Again once it is complete is will give details regarding the quality of the calibration.

  10. Clean and dry the probe.

  11. Place the probe into the high point (10) calibration pouch. Press the high point (10) calibration button to start the high point calibration.

  12. Again once it is complete it will give details regarding the quality of the calibration.

  13. Clean and dry the probe. It is now ready to be used unless the details regarding the calibration state otherwise.

Note: The stop button can be used at anytime during each of the calibration steps. It will stop the current step and will allow you to restart at your current step. If you leave the calibration page at any point during the entire calibration process you will need to start over.

Calibration Steps (Using Local Interface)

  1. Clean the probe with clean water. Dry the drop with a soft towel.

  2. Open the calibration pouches.

  3. Place clean/dry probe into the mid point (7) calibration pouch.

  4. Press the menu button to navigate to C-MI. One on this item press the select button to start the calibration.

  5. Once it is complete is will give details regarding the quality of the calibration using scrolling text on the screen.

  6. Clean and dry the probe.

  7. Place the probe into the low point (4) calibration pouch. C-LW item will be on the screen. Press the select button to start the calibration process.

  8. Again once it is complete is will give details regarding the quality of the calibration using scrolling text on the screen.

  9. Clean and dry the probe.

  10. Place the probe into the high point (10) calibration pouch. C-HI item will be on the screen. Press the select button to start the calibration process.

  11. Again once it is complete it will give details regarding the quality of the calibration using scrolling text on the screen.

  12. Clean and dry the probe. It is now ready to be used unless the details regarding the calibration state otherwise.

Note: The increment and decrement button can be used at anytime to stop the current calibration step. The current calibration step will be available to select to restart the calibration process.
